Most floral glass beads have the flowers added on the surface of a smooth bead. Andrea creates her pendants from scratch using a 2500+ degree oxygen/propane torch. The glass is slowly crafted and assembled into a piece of jewelry that takes considerably longer to work but is much stronger and more durable than the more common "soda-lime" glass jewelry. The colors are produced by various metals and metal oxides added to the glass, and a variety of unique effects are achieved through the use of precious metals such as gold and silver. Large glass pendants measure approximately 2 1/2" in length and come strung on a 24" sterling silver chain. Colors are as follows: mauve, dark blue, pale purple, pale pink, white, and pale green.
